Some good friends of mine came over a couple days ago and learned a song I’ve been working on called “Hand It Over”. I’ve always had a horrible habit of leaving halloween costumes until the last minute. Last year was a Han Solo that looked more like a cowboy with stripey pants. This year I knew I needed to make up for that.
I went to the costume shop, bought a discounted Bobba Fett bodysuit and decided that I could make the missing helmet with relative ease.
I have no idea why I thought that.
After trolling The Dented Helmet for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours, I managed to get my shit together. I discovered that there is a large group of people who would laugh their asses off at anyone suggesting that there was only one color scheme for Bobba Fett’s armour throughout the course of his screen time. These people’s terrifyingly in-depth opinions had entirely too much sway over the two days that I had to make this helmet (yes, I’m an idiot and only left myself two days), but I think it turned out pretty damn good!
I’d still get laughed at at a Star Wars convention, but I totally nailed my quotes.

In a desperate act to make it seem like I have actually been posting on my website this whole time, I’m going to write about a bunch of stuff I’ve done over the past year multiple times throughout the next week. I’d delve further into this pseudo backlog thing, but I’d feel better being honest about it.
SO, thing number 1:
A group of friends, @SuperFries and I all went to Bumbershoot this summer. I was handed a photo pass and under the Winnie Cooper name, we proceeded to get drunk in America.
The festival was great but the only thing that really surprised me was a band that was originally pretty far down the list of “wanttosees”.
In a sea of ironic, “look how alt my space echo is” sets, Valient Thorr was an unapologetic long boat of ass kicking, fun mongering party times.
Regardless of your opinion of the genre, if these guys come to your city, go. It may have been my photo pit front row seats, but seeing these guys and getting a caricature of me riding a centaur was worth the entire price of admission.
